Cerberus Sciences offers a range of live animal monitoring and disease investigation packages incorporating serology, bacteriology, parasitology and histopathology.

| HMP | Please Note – Histopathology is NOT included in the HMP package and should be requested separately according to the immune/GM status of the animal. Health monitoring package for mice combining bacteriology, parasitology and molecular diagnostics. External examination for lesions and ectoparasites (Tape test of pelage). Euthanasia and sample collection for serology if required. Autopsy and description of lesions found. If lesions are present, samples will be taken for further analysis. Nasotracheal wash taken. Nasotracheal wash retained for Mycoplasma PCR if required Bacteriology culture of NT wash (CO2) and caecal contents (Aerobic) for detection of: B.bronchiseptica, Citrobacter rodentium Corynebacterium kutscheri, Klebsiella spp, Pasteurella spp, Pseudomonas spp, Proteus spp, Streptobacillus moniloformis, Staphylococcus (coag +ve), Streptococci (β haem), Streptococcus pneumoniae. Sample Handling
All live animal submissions to Cerberus Sciences must be pre-booked to ensure
that animals are processed in a timely manner. Please ring, e-mail or fax the
laboratory with your requirements and animal numbers to be submitted for confirmation
of service availability.
All animals must be transported according to IATA guidelines and appropriate
animal welfare considerations, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
Please ensure that you are aware of prevailing weather conditions in Melbourne
prior to transport.

Please ensure that appropriate amounts of feed, bedding and hydrating material
are available for the animal(s) for a 24 hour period in the event that shipments
are delayed.
