Consultations and Interpretation
  • Consultation time and scientific collaboration from veterinary pathologists with rabbit pathology experience and a background in lab animal medicine.
  • Review and interpretation of clinical laboratory data.
  • Assistance with study and experimental protocol design.
  • Discussion and/or presentation of data, photomicrographs, figures, sample collection, fixation, stains and immunohistochemistry.
  • Gross evaluation of tissue, explants, and medical device samples.
  • Photo-microscopy of selected tissues and lesions: Electronic copy provided with full resolution photomicrographs.
  • Production and annotation of photo-micrographs.
  • Interpretation of immunohistochemistry.

We recommend discussing your study and project plans with our veterinary pathologists in advance to ensure appropriate samples, controls and optimal processing of the tissues is achieved.

Veterinary Pathologists
Lorna Rasmussen
BVSc, BVSc (Hons), MMedVet(Path)(Pret), Diplomat ACVP. She has over 25 years’ experience in veterinary anatomical and clinical pathology incorporating companion, production, laboratory, African and Australian  native animals and a multitude of non-mammalian species. She has been involved  with participation in toxicological and clinical trials for several organisations in Victoria.

She qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1988 (University of Pretoria), held the post of Senior Lecturer in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at the Medical University of South Africa between 1992 and 1998, obtained MMedVet(Pathology) degree in 1998 and became a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists by examination in 2007.

She is based in Melbourne.
